I just flew back from Columbus, Ohio…and boy, are my arms tired! (ba-rum-bum-bum). But seriously folks…I had a wonderful time at the big TNNA (The National Needlecraft Association) Show. For those of you who don’t know, TNNA shows are bi-annual gatherings where yarn manufacturers, yarn shop owners, needlecraft magazine and book publishers, accessory manufacturers, and designers and authors (like moi) get together to share ideas, see what’s new, sell each other “stuff” and eat, drink and be merry. It is a knitter’s “candyland” and I had a lot of fun seeing old friends and fellow designers, signing lots of my books, going to parties and eating, drinking and being merry. I did a number of book signings, and the shop owners seemed very excited about my new books and four new leaflets. They were also very complimentary about Knitting Never Felt Better having been named as the Best Craft Book of 2007 by the Independent Publishers Association. A lot of people tried on a number of scarves from my Signature Scarves book that we had on display.

My booth at TNNA, where I got to chat with yarn shop owners.

Namaste gave me two beautiful bags—their products are great. Take a look at namasteneedles.com.
Some other impressive booths: Denise Interchangeable Knitting Needles (knitdenise.com) featured a lovely set of pink needles with some of the profits going to Breast Cancer Research; Debra’s Garden (debrasgarden.com) had a unique necklace needle gauge that I loved; Fun Specs (FunSpecs.com) are great because I need them, and Beadles (knittingbeadles.com) as always, had really cute needles.
I also got to choose some yarns for my new book, which is always exciting. Trendsetter Yarn has some beautiful boa/ostrich feathers, and they gave me a few yards of blue/gray—oh yeah!
I also got to spend a few lovely days with my Aunt Angie and Uncle Anthony and meet their gorgeous new one-month-old grandson Drake who is the perfect counterpart to his beautiful older sister, Brooklyn.
Well, that’s it for now. I’ll be teaching at the Big Apple Guild in New York and will let you know how it goes. Love to hear from you…Happy Knitting, Nicky
