I was invited to teach at one of my favorite venues, The Big Apple Knitting Guild, out at LaGuardia College in Queens, NY. More than 50 dedicated knitters showed up, and we had a lot of fun and shared a lot of knitting ideas. It was wonderful to see all their familiar smiling faces and get lots of hugs. I showed them my two latest books Signature Scarves and Crocheting On The Edge and even showed them a sneak preview of the cover of my forthcoming book Knitting On Top of the World. The ooh’s and the aah’s showed me that we are on the right track, and they were excited that there will be over fifty new pieces for the book and lots of knitting history and techniques.
We made the flower for the scarf that I designed for the Vogue Knitting 25th Anniversary Issue cover, and the group was amazed at how easy the scarf is to make. I always love showing knitters how easy a complicated looking project can be.
My favorite part of the day was an impromptu fashion show of my designs with the audience as the models. Some of the girls could really strut their stuff, and the designs never looked so good. See for yourself below!

The Big Apple Knitting Guild is a great organization that allows knitters to get together, learn, share ideas and have a lot of fun. Check them out online, and remember that there are wonderful knitting guilds all across the country that are worthy of your support.
Well—off to the beautiful state of Colorado to see our son Ken, and teach at three lovely knitting shops in Denver and Vail. I’ll tell you all about my Rocky Mountain knitting adventures when I get back. Keep in touch—Nicky
